Heritage Digital created accessible digital twins of endangered cultural heritage sites across Southern Europe, using photogrammetry and 3D scanning to preserve at-risk monuments, frescoes, and architectural elements. The six-partner consortium worked with national heritage agencies to digitise over 200 individual artefacts and 12 complete sites.
Golden Blue delivered the project website with an immersive 3D viewer integration, allowing researchers and the public to explore digitised heritage sites directly in the browser. The site was built with full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance and optimised for the large media assets central to the project's mission.
The website launched within two weeks and immediately became the primary public access point for the digitised collection, receiving coverage in three national heritage publications. The 3D viewer module was subsequently adapted by two additional Creative Europe projects for their own digital heritage collections.
